Replica of Antique Crucifix from Northern France Monastery
Dimensions: 18×10
In 2021 Crossroads came across a crucifix that once enriched the faith lives of a monastery in Northern France. The Romanesque-style corps and plaque made out of an ancient stone nailed to a native European wood made this crucifix something we wanted to bring back to bless the Acadian community.
After prayerfully discerning, we knew this crucifix had a bigger purpose. After talking to Fr. Champagne, he connected us to the Community of Jesus Christ Crucified’s Oratory Don Bosco Ministry. Located in St. Martinville, this ministry’s mission is to serve local at-risk youth.
The replication of the cross was made by those youth who participated in vocational training in woodworking. Through this crucifix, the prayers of a closed-down monastery in Europe continue to bless the lives of those in Acadiana.
Profits from this purchase impact the Don Bosco ministry and Catholic Charities of Acadiana.
